How to Install Your Lace Wigs for Beginners

8 Killer Items to Help You Install Your Wigs Fast and Snappy for Beginners and How to Use them

 transparent pantyhose for wig installation

Yeah, everyone knows this but have you tried the newer style of using your transparent pantyhose instead? There you go! Reviewers have it that it’s more breathable and also makes the wig look more realistic! Anyone you are using, try using the one that matches your skin tone!

But Hold on, before you actually put on that wig cap or hose pants, be sure to secure your hair with a simple all-back braiding of your natural hair so that the wig can lie flat on your head, the more braids the better.

ghost bone lace glue alcohol prep pad for wig installation

Hold on, before you actually slash on that glue, you wanna first prep your hairline by cleaning it with an alcohol prep pad so as to remove any residue from makeup or skincare products that can prevent the adhesive from properly sticking.

Now it is time to put the glue on! Be sure to buy the one that’s mild on sensitive skin if you have one, has a good hold and dries up quickly. To apply the glue, dot it along or apply a thin layer around your hairline and then smoothen it out with a makeup sponge. After that, use a blow dryer on it until it turns clear. You can add another layer of glue and blow dry again, the more adhesive the more hold for a fitting wig.

Time to cut off your wig excess lace! So, you place the wig on your head but don’t let it touch the adhesive yet. You just want a guide to know the extent you will cut the lace. Make two vertical cuts into the excess lace above your eyebrows. Creating these two vertical cuts makes it easier to cut. Cut it in a zigzag way for a more realistic look. So, remember the wig isn’t touching the glue yet. Pull it up when you’re done cutting, apply another layer of adhesive and blowdry. Then pull the wig unit forward to where the adhesive is. Pull the lace down to match with the hairline, at the edge of your adhesive. And that is where you place the lace wig! Be intentional about the positioning here cause if you don’t place it well you will have to pull it off and start glueing again. Calm down, it’s not that hard actually :)

tail comb for wig installation

You guessed right. Cause it’s not just any comb we’re talking about here. Use a carbon back that has that tiny handle. You use the back of the comb to press down the adhesive to hold well. You can repeat the glue process here again for extra hold.

wig head band

After the comb process, we suggest tying down the front of your wig unit with a head band for about 10 to 15 minutes. This makes it lay flat for that realistic look!

blow dryer

Put the scarf away and sharply use a blow dryer to dry and seal up everything.

After this, you have to go in with a razor or tiny scissors to cut out any excess lace that is still there.

This is where you will need the Got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray . This is what will make the lace line disappear completely to have a natural looking hairline.  Take it and spray it meticulously across the front on the hairline,  and press it with the back of the comb. Then blow dry it to finish.

ceramic hot comb for wig installation

And Finally! Now you want to style the wig. You can part the hairline and press it out with this pressing hot comb. If you like baby hairs, then do this: Take the hairline on the front and cut a small amount of hair across the entire front, maybe between 1/16 inch. To cut it, you would cut it to about 3/4 inch to an inch long. Then shape your baby hair to your style and mold it with your favourite edge control. Use a mousse and then tie it down with a setting paper. Finish up with a blow dryer and then you’re done!
